#WriteStuff I'm also exhausted and I still have dishes to clean up. Yawn. I'll repost what I see now and repost the rest in the morning. Goodnight!
#WriteStuff I'm on a Widow's Bay Weekend planning committee. We're setting up a huge weekend party in May in Rockport, MA, where part of the show was filmed. I live in Rockport. Season 2 begins filming here in March, 2027. I'm psyched! I haven't been this excited about a TV show since The X-Files.

Okay, since I've been yammering about my most recent novel and its non-linear timeline and subplots, here you go:
#WriteStuff No link: but this came out of my fingers this weekend. I always write this way -- the first chapter or so, and then sit back and think about whether I should finish it.
Sounds like dangling is approved! #WriteStuff
#WriteStuff A6:
I personally like that when the main plot finishes, as a sort of calm conclusion from everything, a few subplots should resolve and some shouldn't. To have time to calm down and still have things happening, and to also have some open ends to think about.
So: yes to all of the above
Hooks for the next books! I love this! #WriteStuff
#WriteStuff A5 (cont):
In fact, one could find the massive amount of subplots to be more interesting than the few main plots for that reason: they flesh out a lot of the already very involved characters and even introduce new characters you can get to know. They make the world to the one it is
#WriteStuff A5:
Actually, yes. I use my subplots (and side quests in the games) to flesh out every character even more and help readers (and players) to explore different aspects of them that the main plots rarely let me spell out.

Thanks! That makes sense. I hadn't thought of using a subplot that way. I don't often use flashbacks but TRAILER TRASH ZOMBIES uses suspense & premonition of the future to drive the plot forward. Gabrielle is the one with the ability to see into the near future. She hates it. #WriteStuff
A6: I think they can absolutely dangle. Mine did. #WriteStuff
Ex: My MC fools around with the friend of her husband in a flashback. We don't know what happened to the friend.
#WriteStuff Q6 ( #CourtroomGhost) If they dangle properly, they're hooks for the next book. If they don't, I'll get reader mail asking what happened to x character.
#WriteStuff A6
I may be the wrong person to ask, since my main stories tend to NOT conclude. But no, subplots don't need to resolve neatly. They can, and it can make for a fun story. But it isn't necessary
