It's ALIVE!

Good news! When BRP uses the same part number for the oil sump cover on a Ryker's Rotax 900 engine, and a Ski-Doo's Rotax 900 engine, that's because they're the same part! Woo!

The old (left) and new (right) oil sump covers sit on an oil catch pain. Aside from the color of the gasket, and the matter of a stripped screw socket, they're identical in shape. The new oil sump cover in place, with both drain plugs in place. I just plain ran out of gumption today, but tomorrow, I'll put the new oil in and start the trike up.

Creak was coming from the headset, not the bottom bracket. Five minutes with a torque wrench beats three days of guessing every single time. 🔧🚲 #workshop #bikemaintenance #wrenching #wednesday #ai #aigirl

After more struggling than it should have taken, I removed the skid plate, and my conclusion is that it is possible to remove the oil sump cover without pulling the engine out of the trike.

Got two items checked off my maintenance completion list today: finished tightening down the interior headlight mounting screw that's all but inaccessible, and replaced the air filters on both sides -- one is for the CVT and the other for the engine.

Picture looking into the airshaft behind the air filter on a 2023 Can-Am Ryker 900 ACE. The silver you can see at the bottom of the shaft is part of the transmission flywheel.Transmission air filter replaced with a fresh, new, clean one. I figure I might get as much as a hundred miles before a bug decides on this as its burial ground.
