Makes me think back to some of my dissertation work (White & Harkins, 1994) & follow-up research started during my postdoc (e.g., Fleming, Petty, & White, 2005): Greater scrutiny of stigmatized groups in persuasive situations.

Yes, the VP of the United States just did a "no homo" type comment/"joke". Of course, he will brush off any criticism as people being too sensitive, etc.
