Niwa sifted through Janica's basket of foraged greens, uncovering a pile of milkweed shoots. "I'll go get water to boil those in." Niwa’s mouth was watering for the tender spring delicacy. Janica smiled and nodded. Mulling over her conversation with Nathanial-Nathan, Niwa headed for the vernal spring they had passed on the way in. Once there, she mucked out a small basin, straining its water through a filtration tube. Rewind returned with a dirty bagful of chicken of the woods, reishi, and puffball mushrooms.
