For Week 2 (Season Two) I illustrated a scene from The Butcher's Window.

"It was when I saw the teeth that studded the inside of the fleshy throat that I realized what I was looking at.

A pen and ink illustration of a yellow tiled floor with one tile missing, showing a fleshy hole in the earth with teeth around the rings of flesh. There are blood splatters on the floor, a bone and a plait made of three rib bones.

One of the most gutwrenching moments from #TheMagnusArchives (MAG 92). Drawn for the #WeeklyMagtober prompt Monster πŸ’”

Jon goes through so much in this arc, and to be hit by the finality of his own inhumanity is just heartbreaking..

A two-panel comic: Jonathan Sims from The Magnus Archives is standing in front of Elias Bouchard’s desk. Elias is looking at him and asking, β€œAnything else?” Jon is silhouetted against a desk lamp; inside his dark shape are many white eyes. The next panel shows Jon from the front, in the glow of the desk lamp. He’s bruised and his green shirt is stained with blood. The slash at his throat is still fresh and bleeding. His glasses are crooked and his right hand is bandaged. He asks, β€œAm I… Elias, am I still human?”

For Week 1 (Season One) I illustrated a scene from Anatomy Class.

"The heart in her hand began to spasm. Not like the regular, rhythmic pulse of a heartbeat, but like a balloon being rapidly squeezed at one end."

This October I'm doing the Weekly MAGTober drawing challenge because I'm back on my The Magnus Archives bullshit and also wanted a more laidback challenge than a daily drawing. I haven't been drawing properly for months so hopefully this will help unrust my quill, as it were. #WeeklyMAGTober

Starting off #WeeklyMagtober with season 1 and Jon shutting down his own health needs (not for the last time) in desperate pursuit of understanding. 🫠 Prompt: Worms #MagnusPod #TheMagnusArchives #JonMartin

A digital artwork of Jonathan Sims and Martin Blackwood from The Magnus Archives. Jon is leaning against a desk, looking pained, while Martin leans forward in Jon’s large green office chair. Jon’s body is covered in bandages visible through the rips and tears in his clothes. A walking cane is leaning next to him. Martin is looking up earnestly at Jon, his hand resting on the desk inches from Jon’s hand.
