HOW HOT WAS THIS WEEKEND?!

It doesn't get to the 80s very often in the #Northland in the middle of #fall, but that was the case this weekend.

Everyone at some point saw readings this #warm, and that led to a few spots seeing one of their #warmest #temperature […]

The warmest day of the previous weekend was Saturday, October 10, 2026. The vast majority of locations in the Northland were in the 80s, with a 90° reading in Moose Lake. The coolest spots were right next to Lake Superior in the Twin Ports and North Shore regions, but they eventually got to the 70s during Saturday night. A number of locations saw record highs set for the date, including 89° in Ashland, 87° in Atikin, Hibbing, and Ironwood, and 86° in Grand Rapids and Hayward. All temperatures readings are in degrees Fahrenheit.See temperatures warm to the 80s in the Northland in October is unusual. Saturday's readings were record setting for the entire month. Locations such as Ironwood at 87° Fahrenheit set a new warmest temperature reading for the month. Others like Hayward and Hibbing, both at 86°, tied their all-time record high for October. It wasn't just very warm during the daytime, as low temperatures the morning of Sunday, October 11, 2026, were warmer than the average high for the day. Readings were in the upper 40s, 50s, and 60s. Some spots like Ashland, Duluth, Hayward, and Ironwood are likely to set record low maximums for the day. Temperatures readings are in degrees Fahrenheit. It is too early to confirm, but some spots in the Northland will likely see more record highs set or tied for this Sunday, October 11. Readings were back in the 70s and 80s across the region. One could see a change in the horizon as temperatures are cooling as one moves from southeast to northwest across the region. It will be back to the 50s for many highs come Monday. Temperatures readings are in degrees Fahrenheit.

Today is one of the #warmest #October days the #Northland has seen in recorded history.

However, never underestimate the power of #LakeSuperior. The #lakeeffect is in full effect.

We are getting the fire pit going soon.
