A late 9th century wall painting fragment of an angel which was found during excavations at New Minster in Winchester; possibly part of the monastic buildings founded by King Alfred. Now on display at Winchester Cathedral. 📷 My own. #WallpaintingWednesday #WinchesterCathedral
