VintageSilvertones' CBGB's tribute on the 20th anniversary (+1 day) of its closing in 2006. Photographs from CBGB's shortly after Joey Ramone died in 2001 with the memorials and momentos to his life & career. RIP Joey and CBGB's.

I went to CBGB's more times than I can remember from the late 1970s to 2006. It was a classic New York City concert venue that featured some of the most important bands of all time. So I had to dig into my photo archives for this tribute posting. This set is from April 2001 shortly after Joey Ramone died. There were tributes to him at CBGB's for a while. The set shows a flyer for the King Of Punk Joey Ramone. A note that says Saved Ya Some. With A Lot Of Love Joanne, Kreg, and Cadillac and it has a glue stick taped to it. The other shows show the front entrance of CBGB's with all the memorials. And, a photo from across the street showing the full building.

AIRLINE 7214 AMP-IN-CASE - one pickup, black solidbody electric guitar made by Supro/Valco of Chicago IL in 1964. These were direct competitors (although never produced in the same numbers) to Sears/Silvertone amp-in-case guitars (models: 1448 & 1457) with a thinner body, simplified tone and volume controls on the guitar. And, one jack, one volume control, and a fuse on the exterior of the amp-in-case. These did not open up like the Silvertones; which opened like a book and stand vertically. The guitar slides into the case with the neck behind the speaker. They made one and two pickup versions of the guitar kit. This one suffered some damage along the way and the lower cutaway has been chipped. (Calling Pete Shelley!)Description from VintageSilvertones.com

The pickup is strong and sounds great. The volume control works correctly. But, the tone control does not work. Also, it's a bit scratchy sounding. So some small electronics work will need to be done. That's reflected in the price. Otherwise it's very clean but does show some wear around the body edges, a cigarette burn on the headstock, and the paint is worn off on the neck from 70+ years of playing. Photos tell the story. It appears to be all original. No case or gig bag but it will be double-boxed for shipping.Description from VintageSilvertones.com
