Portfolio fell 1.9% this week vs S&P 500 up 1.2%. Wednesday and Thursday did the damage. Our December pick is still up 126% since inception and has blown past my old price target. Not selling yet. #PortfolioUpdate #ValueInvesting

If your investment style collapses when the opportunity dries up, you didn't have a style. You had a method tuned to one regime. Separate the principle from the method and you stop being surprised. #ValueInvesting

ECO ran from ~$60 in August to ~$93 on Oct 8, up 50%+. I wanted to buy anyway. I passed. Here's why the Spot-rate tanker trade is not worth chasing here. #ValueInvesting #stocks

I still run cigar butt screens. I just size them smaller than a decade ago and hold them for shorter periods. Deep value didn't stop working. My tolerance for its volatility changed. #ValueInvesting

The best investments often require waiting. I waited years to buy $MA. The patience paid off. Don't confuse activity with progress. Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is nothing at all. #Investing #ValueInvesting #Patience

Forex taught me I could make money fast. It also taught me I had no idea what I was doing. Stocks taught me the same lesson more slowly and more expensively. The Intelligent Investor was the fix. #ValueInvesting

New September bank pick funded by the SYF exit and a DELL trim. The gap is an overlooked cost-of-equity assumption the market hasn't repriced. Paid subscribers get the name, thesis, and full valuation. #ValueInvesting

Most edges disappear once everyone knows the method. The principle behind good companies at reasonable prices has survived nearly a century of being public. That's the difference between a method and a framework. #ValueInvesting

ILC earned CLP 279,957M in 2025 and CLP 165,016M in 6M26, up +44.7%. Every major subsidiary improved. Target CLP 38,300 on a 2.1x book, ~17% sustainable ROE. #ValueInvesting #Chile

S&P down 0.3%, my portfolio up 0.2%. In weeks like this, boring cash-generative holdings earn their keep. No dramatic moves. Just the discipline of owning businesses that produce cash. #ValueInvesting

SYF CET1 fell 100 bps y/y to 13.2% while the efficiency ratio deteriorated to 35.8%. Capital normalization means less buyback support ahead. That's one reason my DCF target moved from $130 to $100. #ValueInvesting

Twenty years of investing and my biggest edge is refusing to abandon what works when it's briefly out of favor. Cigar butts, quality names, small caps, big caps. Patience isn't a strategy. It's a requirement. #ValueInvesting

Twenty years in and I still do cigar butts, just smaller. Volatile, cheap, occasionally great. The mistake would be abandoning them entirely or sizing them like a quality compounder. Match the position to the risk. #ValueInvesting
