"I've Found Someone of My Own" is a song written by Frank F. Robinson and performed by #TheFreeMovement. It was produced by #JoePorter, arranged by #JimmieHaskell and #MichaelOmartian, and was released in April 1971 from the band's 1972 album, #IveFoundSomeoneOfMyOwn.

Subsequent releases, including a cover of Stephen Stills' "Love the One You're With,” also failed to catch fire… The Free Movement disbanded shortly after. The group left behind one enduring, timeless pop-soul classic in "I've Found Someone of My Own.” #TheFreeMovement #OneHitWondered #MusicSky

By the time the song became a smash, the Free Movement had moved to Columbia. Their only LP followed in 1972, along with “The Harder I Try (The Bluer I Get),” which topped out at #50 on the US #Hot100 and #6 Easy Listening. No further hits followed... #TheFreeMovement #OneHitWondered #MusicSky

"I've Found Someone of My Own" was a classic slow-burner.... The single spent over five months crawling up the #Hot100 before eventually peaking at #5 on the #Top40. It also peaked at #7 on the Adult Contemporary chart, topped out at #20 on the R&B. #TheFreeMovement #OneHitWondered

Decca released "I've Found Someone of My Own," written by Frank F. Robinson and produced by Joe Porter… the dramatic cheating song came with a twist: a woman confesses she has found somebody new, only to learn her partner has someone of his own. #TheFreeMovement #OneHitWondered

Formed in Los Angeles in 1970, The Free Movement was a six-member vocal group that definitely drew comparisons with The 5th Dimension. The group recorded demo tracks that caught the ear of Decca Records. #TheFreeMovement #DeccaRecords #OneHitWondered
