@mattder.bsky.socialSome of the games I’ve been up to, a Flamecraft birthday cake my daughter made for me, and what my work desk looks like after copying parts of Deckers and getting a clear cover.

@miriamellis.bsky.socialToday, the utterly magnificent, "almost angelic" Glorfindel sets out from Rivendell in search of the Frodo and drops a green beryl on the Last Bridge as a token of hope. Help is on the way. A day of awe!

@miriamellis.bsky.socialToday, the hobbits set out with Strider from the Prancing Pony Inn, entering the Chetwood, glimpsed here beyond Bree Hill. My layout of Bree is based on Professor Tolkien's diagram of the village. The description of the wood is lovely. #Tolkien #TheFellowshipoftheRing
@miriamellis.bsky.socialJust when the hobbits need it most, they are "refreshed and encouraged" tonight at the hospitable Prancing Pony Inn. Big folk offering Little Folk-friendly rooms is something I think Tolkien really cared about. Food for thought!

@miriamellis.bsky.socialThey say Tom is the master, and this morning he rescues the hobbits and teaches his most masterful lesson about breaking the barrow spell by leaving its hoard on the grass, free to all comers.
@miriamellis.bsky.socialLike earth and water lading the table, Tom and Goldberry's supper dance is one at which the hobbits are especially merry tonight in this wonderful house.
@miriamellis.bsky.socialThis morning, the hobbits awake in the marvelous penthouse of Tom and Goldberry, where the sun is shining on the runner beans and everything is fresh with reeds and rushes. I think this is the loveliest morning scene in all of #thefellowshipofthering and the day ahead will be grand!

@miriamellis.bsky.socialThe golden welcome of Goldberry to this homely house is a wonderful ending to the hobbits' perilous walk today. Imagine coming into this dwelling and knowing you'd found real rest for the night. Tolkien's genius shines in this gentle, mysterious scene!
@miriamellis.bsky.socialAfter supper, Maggot helps the hobbits to the Bucklebury Ferry. Tolkien left a faint sketch of Brandy Hall, which I have included a fuller watercolor of in A Shire Walking-Party. Will the hobbits ever reach Crickhollow tonight? Come back later to see! #Tolkien #TheFellowshipoftheRing
@miriamellis.bsky.socialAs the sun lowers, our hobbit trio enters the water-rich Marish, where Farmer Maggot is famous for his mushrooms. There's a seat for you at Mrs. Maggot's table this evening. What a relief after a long, worrisome day of walking.
@miriamellis.bsky.socialBy now, Pippin has been taken off to sleep in a little bower, and Frodo is deep in conversation with Gildor Inglorion while dear Sam is simply speechless. Soon, the elves will sing to the stars!
@miriamellis.bsky.socialTonight, Frodo recognizes the elves' song to Elbereth - a truly significant moment - and Sam has his sparkling night with Gildor Inglorion's folk!

Mostly reincarnations and higher archetypes. With a couple of exceptions.
