Because of the truck in the left lane, I didn’t see the emergency vehicle until #TeslaFSD started to slow. And while you can’t tell in the video, there were only the lights … no sirens. To top it off, the blue Bolt ignores the lights and blows past the intersection in front of the police vehicle.

This was a bad day for #TeslaFSD, the second major screw up that day. The traffic controls here are relatively new but it was heading straight for the curb. There aren’t many times where I am taking over because it’s about to do something critically bad, but this was one of them.

@drivenbyevs.bsky.socialOct 14, 2026, 3:03 PM

I have no idea what #TeslaFSD was going to do here. It totally missed the garage entrance, either due to the sun or confusion on which was the entrance and which was the exit. It looked like it was going to hit the center island. Admittedly, it’s a tight space and difficult even for a human.

@drivenbyevs.bsky.socialOct 13, 2026, 3:34 PM

There are definitely circumstances where #TeslaFSD is more cautious than I. Here, I probably would have started to turn after the grey minivan, not seeing the red Toyota going through the intersection. Although, how did it know the white pick up was going to turn? Did it see the turn signal?

@drivenbyevs.bsky.socialOct 12, 2026, 3:20 PM

It was very nice of #TeslaFSD to allow these pedestrians to cross in an unmarked crosswalk with a relatively high flow of vehicle traffic. Fortunately, there wasn’t anybody close behind me so I let it go.

Hardly a misstep from Phoenix to Palm Springs and just as you start to have confident, #TeslaFSD takes a turn, that it’s made a thousand times, too wide. There was no reason for it and the next time, it did it perfectly. It works until it doesn’t and you’ll never know when.

@drivenbyevs.bsky.socialOct 8, 2026, 11:37 PM

Just another distracted driver cruising along at 80+ mph along I-10 west of Phoenix and #TeslaFSD moves out of the way to let them by.

@drivenbyevs.bsky.socialOct 8, 2026, 2:38 PM

As #TeslaFSD starts to move on the green light, it definitely hears something. It’s not until you can see it in the left repeater that it stops and waits for the emergency vehicle to safely pass.

@drivenbyevs.bsky.socialOct 5, 2026, 4:12 PM

Here is a vehicle, not exactly in the roadway, but close enough and still moving. If you watch the front wheels, it’s unclear what this guy is going to do. #TeslaFSD is cautious, moving out of the way to give them room, but not overlay so that it stops. And it does appear to have called it right.

While it has worked in the past, I rarely try this because it’s too inconsistent. Is the software getting better? Was this just lucky? Was there something about this garage that was different? This is one of the times #TeslaFSD successfully navigated out of a parking garage and into the street.

@drivenbyevs.bsky.socialOct 1, 2026, 4:22 PM

It’s hard to tell in the video, but #TeslaFSD does slow to a crawl for this dip in the road, very similar to how it handles speed bumps now. Anybody know if it’s able to: 1) read the road sign, or 2) see the road elevation change or 3) just got lucky with the different road surfaces?

@drivenbyevs.bsky.socialSep 29, 2026, 3:08 PM

It’s nice to see some of the recently added features to #TeslaFSD continue to work with extraordinary consistency. One of them includes approaching emergency vehicles with their sirens on. And it regularly starts to react before I can tell which directions the sirens are coming from.

@drivenbyevs.bsky.socialSep 28, 2026, 8:20 PM

I thought this was a nice touch. The oncoming truck is so close to the double yellow line, #TeslaFSD delayed merging into the left turn lane until after it passed the truck. Not a big deal but it does show some built-in intelligence.

@drivenbyevs.bsky.socialSep 28, 2026, 3:36 PM

A lot of my frustration with #TeslaFSD is that it doesn’t drive the way I would. This pedestrian crossing the intersection is clearly on the other side of the double yellow line, so there was plenty of time to make the turn. Once we have true FSD, I won’t care. Until then, overly cautious is good.

@drivenbyevs.bsky.socialSep 23, 2026, 3:12 PM

Admittedly, #TeslaFSD is getting more impressive. And I find myself trusting it more, which is not necessarily a good thing. I didn’t see the pedestrian standing there waiting so when the car slowed down, I wasn’t sure what it was doing. Now I try not to panic and wait to see what the car will do.

I thought #TeslaFSD did a nice job avoiding this bus. Typically, it does a relatively tight turn at an intersection but because this bus was pulling out of the bus lane at the same time I rounded the corner, it made a split second decision to widen the turn to go around the bus.

@drivenbyevs.bsky.socialSep 22, 2026, 2:46 PM

After abruptly switching lanes, I assume because of those emergency vehicles on the left, #TeslaFSD hesitated at the next intersection. Given my FSD PTSD, I didn’t know what was happening, so I accelerated through the intersection only to see, and then hear, the emergency vehicle.

@drivenbyevs.bsky.socialSep 18, 2026, 7:39 PM

Driving in a downtown area is a challenge. There are multiple pedestrians milling about, and sometimes it’s unclear what they will do next. Also, tons of vehicles all over the place, some parked in travel lanes. In these cases, #TeslaFSD does a meaningful job navigating through all of this.
