Have you seen this? I wish Sondheim were still with us. “Pick Another Protein” would be a delightfully macabre ditty. #SweeneyTodd #tcmparty bsky.app/profile/scol...

@teamrickandilsa.bsky.socialAt least Sweeney and Mrs. Lovett are recycling🤷♀️ #SweeneyTodd #TCMParty
@vanstanwyck.bsky.socialI didn't know Michael was her first Sweeney! They should have drummed up a pretext for him to sing like they did when they invented Jessica's West End twin cousin Emma. I just about plotzed when she burst into Goodbye Little Yellow Bird.

@lydiahamessley.bsky.socialThis version of #SweeneyTodd was directed by Hal Prince. He also directed #Candide. I've seen 3 different performances of his, & the actors he chose for Cunegonde & Maximillian look alike across decades. These two-Johanna and the sailor-look exactly like Prince's Cunegonde & Maximillian. #TCMParty
@teresarwv.bsky.socialI wish a production of Mame with Dame Angela had been filmed like this. There's a crappy video on YouTube.
We got robbed of seeing her in the movie thanks to Lucille Ball hijacking the part.
@lydiahamessley.bsky.socialThe great Patti Lupone was terrific as Mrs. Lovett as well. Her delivery of "is that not disgusting?" & "Mrs. Mooney has a pie shop" are worth the price of admission. I love the Angela Lansbury version of course, but it's fun seeing these too. #SweeneyTodd #TCMParty www.youtube.com/watch?v=iz8J...
@lydiahamessley.bsky.socialDid anyone see the version with #EmmaThompson & #BrynTerfel w the NYPhil? I did! 😀 Supposedly a concert version, but WOW, it transformed very quickly. You GOTTA watch the opening. Start at 1:25. Trust me! You'll be amazed, & Thompson can sing! #SweeneyTodd #TCMParty

@ladyday93tjfgg.bsky.socialHurd Hatfield was on MSW in two separate episodes. Mickey Rooney shows up and dies. Forrest Tucker who did Mame. #CreepyCinema #TCMParty #SweeneyTodd #MurderSheWroteAngelaLansbury
@ladyday93tjfgg.bsky.socialShe reunited w/A LOT of people she acted w/in film, on stage and on tv with on her show Murder, She Wrote. Her 1st Sweeney Todd, Len Cariou had a recurring role as an MI-6 agent named Michael. #CreepyCinema #TCMParty #SweeneyTodd #MurderSheWroteAngelaLansbury
@caldesertsun.bsky.socialI suspect he may mean to do something rash with that razor....
@chrissturhann.bsky.socialOkay I just got in. umm, why does Angela Lansbury look like a furry? #SweeneyTodd #TCMParty
@teamrickandilsa.bsky.socialStephen Sondheim: you will always be famous. #SweeneyTodd #TCMParty
@teamrickandilsa.bsky.socialThe whole staging of this production is *chef’s kiss.* #SweeneyTodd #TCMParty
@teresarwv.bsky.social"... and I'm tellin' you them pussycats is quick."
@lydiahamessley.bsky.social"Them pussycats is quick." Love that line! 😜🐈⬛ #SweeneyTodd #TCMParty
@teresarwv.bsky.socialGeorge and Angela reunited on MSW.
@teamrickandilsa.bsky.socialI get why some aren’t fans of Tim Burton’s version. I’m a fan mostly because of the production design and Alan Rickman. Also, I saw it on Christmas Eve with a dear friend who shared my warped humor and is no longer with us. #SweeneyTodd #TCMParty
