The bag itself is in decent shape. The leather could use some tlc and the strap has stretched in 30 years, but I rarely leave the house without it.

There was almost nothing to adapt from the flat version, and knitting helically prevents jogs at the end of every round. The cast-on stitches are loose, but I can take care of that later.

and colorful. I think I can knit the stitch in the round. Because it's a two row/round repeat, maybe I can knit it helically as well.
