Ciro tipped forward, brushing his nose against Gale's as he knocked his hand away, pinning it again against the blanket. "Have you been collecting evidence to support that conjecture, then?"

"There are cathedrals everywhere for those with eyes to see," Gale quipped, his breath warm against the drow's lips.

"You are insufferable," he whispered back. Ciro gripped Gale's wayward leg with both hands and exerted gentle pressure to splay his leg open on the blanket beneath them.
