#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 20 - Saints of Imperfection

Various plot points are pushed forward including the Search for Spock. The big part is we find out that Emperor Georgiou has joined up with Section 31 (masquerading as Prime Georgiou). We also get introduced to Leland, who is

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 19 - An Obol For Charon

The Search for Spock continues. Tilly's being infected with something from the Mycecial network also continues, only she ends up being consumed by the thing (but not killed). We also get to see Pike's Number One. Here played by

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 18 - Point of Light

I wish Frakes directed this - was much better ep than the last. Mirror Georgiou pops up, along with Ash Tyler, now working for Section 31. We also get into a power struggle in the Klingon empire with L'Rell getting into hot water

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 17 - New Eden

There's a few plots going on here. One touches on "The Search for Spock". The others are trying to understand the Red Angel spots to track them, which takes the Discovery to the Beta Quadrant. They find a group of humans out there, so

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 16 - Brother

The first ep of s2 spends most of its time setting up the various pieces that comprise the S2 arc ("The Red Angel"). That's Pike as captain of Discovery, Burnham and her relationship with Spock, and of course the USS Enterprise NCC-1701.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 15 - Will You Take My Hand?

The S1 finale has a LOT going on. We wrap up the Klingon War with a plot by Mirror Georgiou posing as Prime Georgiou. We visit the Klingon homeworld and find out something VERY bizarre about Klingon males. Repeated Trek guest

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 14 - The War Without, The War Within

The penultimate ep shows us back in the prime universe - 9 months late and the Klingons have seemingly won the war. As Lorca is now gone, command of Discovery falls to Admiral Cornwell. Having Mirror Georgiou is an

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 13 - What's Past is Prologue

The mirror arc ends here. We make it back to the Prime universe. But not before Lorca attempts a coup against the Emperor. Lots of the kind of scenes you'd expect with a coup. Yeoh gets to use her martial arts skills a bit.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 12 - Vaulting Ambition

3/4 of the mirror arc. Their whole plan to get home (to the Klingon war - yay!) is dependent on intfo about the USS Defiant from TOS & ENT and its crossover. They need info only available the the Terran Emperor - mirror Georgiou.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 11 - The Wolf Inside

Second of four eps set in the "Mirror Universe". While I liked seeing that again, I always felt it might have been a tad early in Discovery's run to show us alternates of our regular cast. Still, it's here, and I had fun with it. We

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 10 - Despite Yourself

First of Discovery 2nd half starts with them trying to find out where they are, which eventually is revealed to be Trek's "mirror universe". It's made Stamets unresponsive, which means they can't go anywhere. For me, this ep is a

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 9 - Into the Forest I Go

The first "half" of s1 ends with this, which changes the format for the second half. There's a lot going on in this ep, it's hard to break it all down here. But several plot points from previous eps are revisited. Lorca disobeys

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 8 - Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum

The best part of this for me is Doug Jones' Saru on a mission on a planet. I loved said planet's atmosphere - it feels more alien than the usual standard soundstage planetscape. We also touch on Tilly & Stamets, Ash &

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 7 - Music to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad

A good ol Star Trek trope makes an appearance here - the time loop. This time it's due to Harry Mudd arriving, and wanting to kill the crew and sell the Discovery to the Klingons. Designed as a cost savings ep, it

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 6 - Lethe

Ash Tyler from the last ep joins the crew & is here through end of S2. Both he and Lorca end up not being what they seem. There's some good background stuff with Burnham and Sarek. Sarek's ship is sabotaged, and Burnham talks Lorca into going

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 5 - Choose Your Pain

While on a mission to try and find tech to detect cloaked Klingon ships, Capt Lorca is captured by the Klingons. He's put in a cell with Ash Tyler and Harcourt Fenton Mudd. Mudd is played by Rainn Wilson of "The Office" fame. No one

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 4 - The Butcher's Knife

We get the final appearance of Yeoh's "prime" character, via a recorded message. There's also time spent between Burnham & Tilly and their relationship which was nice. I know what the big plot point for S1 is, but we haven't got

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 3 - Context is for Kings

We finally get to the Discovery itself, who rescues Burnham's shuttle from a storm. The Captain (Lorca) wants to use her on his ship. Most of this episode is Burnham trying to figure out how she's going to fit into the crew.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 2 - Battle at the Binary Stars

Part 2 shows the big Klingon/Human space battle - which was well realized. Lots of ships - looked great. Several parts of this are in flashback, which set up backstory for Burnham & T'Kuvma. Klingons speak natively with no

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 1 - The Vulcan Hello

It begins again. It took 12 yrs to get Star Trek back on TV after Enterprise. We got this - which had Michelle Yeoh onboard whom I loved. The rest of the cast I didn't, so she was my draw. But she's not the primary character here.
