@helganorse.bsky.socialThis Helga Norse masterpiece song is coming out tomorrow.
Moon Armageddon - A song about an asteroid that might be heading for the moon in 2032
➤ A Doom Metal track - for Evanescence or Soundgarden genre lovers

'My Nine Albums', formative, or mind/taste expanding. Badmotorfinger is a big deal and is *probably* my bestest, favouritist, album ever. The rest in no particular order.

@grandaha.bsky.socialNew episode: that massive "Outshined" chorus? It's actually in 7/4 time—seven beats to the bar—and most fans never notice the lopsided meter underneath. We also unpack why lumping Soundgarden in with "grunge" gets them wrong. Give it a listen. #Soundgarden #MusicArchaeology #MusicHistory

@grandaha.bsky.socialEveryone files Soundgarden under grunge and moves on. But trace their DNA back seven records and you hit the Butthole Surfers and swirling psychedelia long before Seattle got a sound. The influences are stranger than the band's reputation lets on.

@grandaha.bsky.socialMost singers treat the high register as a stunt. Chris Cornell made it the whole emotional argument — that multi-octave wail wasn't showing off, it was the song breaking open. The screams mean something because they cost him something.

@grandaha.bsky.socialEveryone remembers Soundgarden for the heaviness, but the real signature is the math: riffs in 7/4, 9/8, 15/8, written to groove instead of to show off. Chris Cornell swore they didn't count — it just felt right. #Soundgarden #Grunge #OddMeter #MusicArchaeology #MusicHistory
@grandaha.bsky.socialEveryone hangs Soundgarden's heaviness on Chris Cornell's wail, but the real engine was Kim Thayil's detuned guitar — a trick he inherited from Tony Iommi. That's why the riffs groove instead of reading like a math exercise. #Soundgarden #Grunge #DropTuning #MusicArchaeology #MusicHistory
@grandaha.bsky.socialEveryone files Soundgarden under grunge, but that's just Seattle geography and a Sub Pop address talking. Where Nirvana went raw and Pearl Jam went anthemic, Soundgarden built something sludgier and stranger — Sabbath riffs bent into odd time signatures. #Soundgarden #MusicArchaeology #MusicHistory

@cyclingtom.bsky.socialSo langsam glaube ich dass das Video von #Soundgarden, "Black Hole Sun", eine akzeptable Zukunftsvision war.

@smokinmusic.bsky.socialThose changes. Those vocals. The crew breaks down what they loved about Soundgarden's Rusty Cage.
