Hybrid Animal Artober Day 12: Casso-Loris

A hybrid animal based on Episode 133 of the Just the Zoo of Us Podcast, which features the Cassowary and the Slow Loris.

#Artober #animalartober #cassowary #slowloris

Pencil drawing of a hybrid between the Cassowary and the Slow Loris. The creature has the body and eyes of the Slow Loris, but the head and wattle of the Cassowary.
Coloring has been digitally painted and is a blend of the reference animals. The body has the orange-tan with lighter patterning of a slow loris along with the brown eyes and peach feet of the inspiration animal. The head is teal and blue, with a red wattle, the tan-gray casque crowning the head, and the blue-gray beak like the cassowary.
The drawing is on top of a pale purple halftone patterned circle that was digitally added to the drawing.

🐒🌙 International Slow Loris Day is a chance to look beyond those enormous eyes and appreciate slow lorises for what they really are: highly specialised, fascinating and surprisingly formidable primates. 🌿
