The Victoria News does have a piece on #SD61 school trustee candidate Andrea Mears vicnews.com/2026/09/07/o...

There's not a ton of #SD61 school trustee news coverage, but Victoria Buzz has basic bios (and gives you an overview across all of the new TEAs/wards) victoriabuzz.com/2026/10/loca...

Notes on the #SD61 Oak Bay Trustee candidate forum yesterday. (Format same as others, series of questions put to all candidates in random order, not a debate).

1st question: Anti bully question from student/parents, how will ethnic minorities be protected and every student feel included?

A teaser from tonight's Community Association of Oak Bay #SD61 candidate forum at Oak Bay High with James Chaney, Piers MacDonald, & Andrea Mears. Opening statements below. Qs covered budget, bullying, heat, childcare, AI, arts funding, active transportation and more. More tomorrow!
