Had a little extra time, got another Scream Star done early. You couldn't tell it was Herbert Lom as the Phantom of the Opera if you didn't know the movie, but I've always thought the mask was pretty iconic.

@duncaneagleson.bsky.socialThis week's Scream Star painting is Ingrid Pitt. The little girl who with her mother escaped a Nazi concentration camp grew up to star in several of Hammer's horror films, as well as appearing in two episodes of Doctor Who.

Besides Lugosi, Edward Van Sloan as Van Helsing was the only cast member from the Broadway Dracula who repeated his role in the '31 movie. He was ever after typecast as the wise old professor.
@duncaneagleson.bsky.socialBack in 2019, I set up an October art challenge for myself: A B&W portrait every week of a famous horror movie star. Among the first was Karloff in The Black Cat. This year's first is a companion piece of Lugosi from the same film.
