Today on St Mary’s, Scilly, was about catching up with two birds that have been here a few days, both from North America. A Wilson’s Snipe, at times almost Jack Snipe like with its dark, striped with straw, mantle and scapulars. Then the Sora that ran and swam right by the hide. #scillybirding

A successful day-trip twitch for the Solitary Sandpiper on Tresco yesterday. It showed so well and it was great to take in the finer points of the ID. Well worth checking pp projection on any Green Sand type that looks a bit different as a first way of checking #ukbirding #scillybirding
