@jessiemayontheweb.bsky.socialCONFESSIONS OF A SCHOOL LIBRARIAN, Part 1:
My least favorite part of being a school librarian is *this* tape. The one with the threads.
@jeffersonreads.bsky.socialOn Tuesday we had our first craft lunch of the year. Even Mr.Curran joined us. We made art inspired by Mexican hojalata tin art for Hispanic Heritage Month. #middleschoollibrary #craftlunch #hojalata #libraryprogram #schoollibrary @apslibrarians.bsky.social @apsva.us
@ydnam.bsky.socialIt continues today. The ALA recommends not keeping patron histories! For me that's enough to outweigh the "but sometimes a kid wants to try and look up something they read a while ago."
@ydnam.bsky.socialThere's a whole discussion (to put it mildly) happening in my district about if school libraries should keep patron histories and there are some VERY strong feelings on both sides and also some ugliness between librarians and library staff re: who should be allowed to have opinions.
@ydnam.bsky.socialA student told me yesterday she did not know how to spell her last name so she could not sign in to the library.
I'm sorry what.
