6.5 and 7 hours; frustrated w/ trying to get the neck folds to look right so i decided to work on his mouth and chin for a while

an unfinished monochromatic freehand digital painting of Adam Driver after 6.5 hours of work; almost all the painting has had the first rough tones smoothed out, with the exception of his chin, which i'm in the midst of detailing. I've detailed some of his beard along his the edge o his right chin, and have started with the textures on his lower lip, as well as some finer work on his teeth. the same painting after 30 more minutes of work, 7 hours total, and I did a bit more on his lip and the beard on the right side of his chin

5.5 & 6 hrs: lots of work on his clothes (a wild zipper appears at 6 hrs), & I finally get cracking on his chin

an unfinished monochromatic freehand digital painting of Adam Driver after 5.5 hours of work; we're mostly out of zombieland at this point, with the exception of his chin, which will get detailed as I smooth it out since there's no point in making it smooth if i'm just going to paint bristles onto it. his clothes are most of the way rendered, a few fine details left to do. the same painting after 30 more minutes of work, 6 hours total, and now there's a zipper! also seams on his right shoulder, and i've started working on his chin, rendering the halo of his beard bristles as I go

I shall keep looking, but if you find it before me, you can bring it to me at the schoolhouse.” Ben’s stomach drops. “I am the teacher there,” she continues with a proud smile. “My name is Rey Johnson, and it is a pleasure to meet you, Mister…?” He can hardly believe the chances. He’d just spent part of an afternoon being so disinterested in anything having to do with the very woman standing before him. He’d been regaled with stories of men falling for her beauty in droves and called them idiots for it. And now… By God. He is an idiot. Not exactly an easy realization to have in the middle of a conversation, and yet it could hardly be avoided.

He runs his fingers through her hair and leans his forehead against hers. “It is impossible not to,” he says. “I, for one, was doomed from the start.” “Ben…” He does love it when she says his name like that. When she sighs it, so soft and lovely, like it’s her last breath and she has happily saved it for him and him alone. He kisses her gently, because he wants nothing more and because he doesn’t need to hear her say she loves him too. Not yet. Maybe not ever, if he’s smart and can learn to stay away. Ensuring that she knows how he feels about her was the most crucial thing, anyway. If he is to become a monster tomorrow, let her know that he loved her before he turned into her nightmare.

But also fucking scared. I love the way you wear your fear.” “I am not scared,” she hissed. But the words sounded weak even to her own ears. “Yes you are,” he argued. “You don’t know what I’m about to do and it scares you. You’re curious, and that scares you too.”
