That's the thinking behind Stop Breed for Greed.

Not anti-breeder. Not anti-breeding. Just better accountability.

#ResponsibleDogOwnership #DogWelfare #ResponsibleBreeding

Because every dog deserves a good start in life. And every dog deserves for the people around them to take responsibility for getting it right.
Every dog starts with a breeder.
Every dog matters 💚
#WorldAnimalDay #DogWelfare #ResponsibleBreeding #ResponsibleDogOwnership

From the moment a dog is bred to every change of ownership that follows, responsibility should be visible, traceable and accountable.

Responsible breeding, informed ownership, good education, early support and access to appropriate training all have a role to play.

*Every dog starts with a breeder*

Education + prevention + accountability = a more responsible approach to dog ownership.

A joined-up lifetime record could help turn fragmented information into meaningful accountability.
Better systems. Better information. Better enforcement.
*Every dog starts with a breeder*
#ResponsibleDogOwnership #DogWelfare #ResponsibleBreeding

Waiting until something goes badly wrong isn't a responsible system.
Prevention, accountability and early intervention can protect dogs, owners and the public.
*Every dog starts with a breeder*
#ResponsibleDogOwnership #DogWelfare #ResponsibleBreeding

We believe accountability should follow the dog throughout its lifetime — from breeder to owner and beyond.
*Every dog starts with a breeder*
#ResponsibleDogOwnership #DogWelfare #ResponsibleBreeding

That's why Stop Breed for Greed is calling for every dog to have a lifetime record, linking breeder, dog and owner from the very beginning.
*Every dog starts with a breeder*
#ResponsibleDogOwnership #DogWelfare #ResponsibleBreeding

The Taskforce recommendations reinforce something we have long believed: if we want responsible ownership, responsibility has to start at the source.
• Every dog starts with a breeder
• Traceability drives accountability

We love dogs. That's precisely why we're asking about breeding

When shelters are full, rescues are overwhelmed and dogs are still waiting for homes, continuing to create more dogs deserves scrutiny.

#ResponsibleDogOwnership Day shouldn't avoid difficult questions.

Why are we still breeding dogs?

Imagine trying to empty a bath while the taps are still running.

That's increasingly what dog rescue can feel like.

Rescue saves the dog in front of us. But unless we address how dogs keep entering the system, the numbers never stop.

Why are we still breeding?

#ResponsibleDogOwnership

#ResponsibleDogOwnership isn't just about what happens after we bring a dog home.

It begins before that dog is even born.

Breeding decisions have consequences too.

Why are we still breeding dogs when so many already need homes?

Every newly bred puppy enters the same pool of potential homes as a dog already waiting in a rescue or shelter.

That's the uncomfortable reality.

Demand for dogs isn't unlimited.

So why aren't we talking more seriously about supply?
