I’m beginning to understand how some of the groundwork ended up laid the way it was. There was…a LOT I romanticized in those novels. Most of it…not romanticize-able when I read it twenty years later.

А. и Б. Стругацкие "Отягощённые злом" - читал я их в той самой "Юности" 1988 года сидя в общаге, и воспринял тогда как очередную перестроечную вариацию, вдохновлённую МиМ. что было не совсем справедливо, но и нынче читается довольно перестроечно. любимое место конечно про картину

А. и Б. Стругацкие "Хромая судьба" - совершенно не помнил, что происходит с Феликсом, и решил перечитать. вышел из него Форрест Гамп для бедных - то эликсир мимо проскользнёт, то ноты эти, да и машина из Банного тоже скорее по касательной

Re-reading a book is unreasonable. You cry at the part you knew was coming. The character you hated was right all along. Same book, completely different reader.
