Yes, the U.K. is indeed resilient in the face of headwinds
Now imagine how much better we’d be doing if we got rid of the headwind we can change

“The UK’s economic performance has deteriorated significantly relative to its peers since the 2016 referendum, with GDP now around 6 per cent below its counterfactual path. The economic upside from closer relations could therefore be material”

“So many Labour MPs turned up to call for more integration that the chair imposed a four-minute limit on speeches. Usually these Westminster Hall debates struggle to attract more than a handful of speakers”

Quite a conundrum
Yes, #Rejoin done purely on a mandate from a GE would be democratic, but would it be convincing and lasting without a further referendum?
The UK doesn’t really understand them - how to go about them properly, but it might be needed…

“A patient, honest case about what Britain needs to be safe and prosperous in a far more dangerous world, and a narrative that persuades the country to look to a brighter future, not the gloomier past”
A future that includes #Rejoin
We will have the whole of the Tech-fascists pouring money and loud speakering the anti-EU mob. We'll have the whole of Facebook, Twitter, et al aligned against us. The E.U standing up to Tech bros is enough reason for them to hate it. @mrjamesob.bsky.social @lbc.co.uk #rejoin #RobberTechBarons
Thanks to @andyburnham.bsky.social‘s recent interventions, we might need to really get this account fired up!

“Kinnock is a former vice president of the European Commission, and an ardent pro-European, and perhaps there is some wishful thinking in what he says. But he is also a good friend of Burnham, and an astute observer of Labour politics”
