40 years ago today, October 11, 1986, Ric Ocasek entered the Top 40 of Billboard’s Hot 100 Singles chart at #38 in its 6th week with “Emotion in Motion”. It went on to peak at #15 and spent a total of 8 weeks in the Top 40.

It’s been a fun and exciting hobby to collect 45 RPM singles over the years. At the station KYAK, that I used to work at, so many records would get thrown away as they’d receive duplicates, plus we’d dub the songs onto cartridges. I’d go through and pick out the records I wanted to keep. This is from 101.3 KGOT, our CHR sister station at that time.
