I've finished the bat fursuit commission -- they're picking it up soon! -- and next in my queue is a bear puppet. Here's a very early WIP where you can see the essentials of the design process. The secret is the sample nose! ;)

Four step view of pattern design process: (1) measure the shape with a scrap piece of foam, (2) sketch out the shape and record all key measurements, (3) draft the piece using measurements and ruler, (4) cut the piece in foam to test it, being sure to pin a sample nose on that test muzzle
