More than half of the speakers tonight are talking about #ProjectGravel directly or the noise that are created by data centers.

The next speaker is concerned about lighting for data centers, concerned that the always on lights will pollute Pima County's #DarkSkies.

Many are VERY upset about being blindsided about #ProjectGravel, saying the county should have told the community (instead of reading about it in the media.)

The current speaker is concerned about low-frequency noise pollution from the proposed data centers.

A third person talks about #ProjectGravel, and is opposed to the development.

Here is the first story I wrote about #ProjectGravel.

For what it is worth, I am still digging into #ProjectGravel.

But one thing we do know - the proposed, complicated proposal is exempt to the county's 120-day moratorium.

There is another speaker from Green Valley/Sahuarita area who is also upset with #ProjectGravel.

We wrote about #ProjectGravel here: www.tucsonagenda.com/p/a-moratori...

The pastor of a Green Valley church rails against the county over the NDA related to #ProjectGravel.

"Who decided that the public doesn't need to know?" he asks.

He demands transparency and if county employees failed to follow policies - they should be fired.

Heinz pushes a friendly amendment, applying to future data center proposals - but not ones currently going through the development process.

There are only two, per on the record statements from county staff. #ProjectBlue and #ProjectGravel. Both are actively in the development process.

In about ten minutes, the #PimaSupes will discuss the 120 day moratorium on (new) data centers.

Whether it extends to data centers currently going through the development process (#ProjectGravel) remains unclear.

Mike Humphrey, who sits on the Pima County Board of Health, asks the #PimaSupes to back the moratorium on data centers.

He says #ProjectGravel deserves a care public health evaluation before any zoning permits are issued.

We did not preview today's meeting, but something I wrote on Monday might (but probably won't) come up tonight. Here is the background on #ProjectGravel.

An exclusive in today @tucsonagenda.bsky.social about the southern Arizona data center that no one has been talking about - and it is much farther along from breaking ground than you might think. #ProjectGravel
