Hi #PoemsAbout peeps @thebrokenspine.co.uk @alanparrywriter.co.uk Thanks for this week’s #Possessed theme. Not been contributing in this space recently, but the theme turned out this bit of weirdness. Thanks for the platform. Catch up as and when. Always look forward to the contributions.

#poetry

A poem by Debbie Ross in 4 stanzas entitled Own It I’ve sometimes been called self-possessed and maybe I am a bit full of myself. Let down too many times, promises broken. I inhabit myself, haunted by memories, traumas’ scars laid bare. I fill the cavern of my soul with every bright thought, each happy thing the day can bring obsessed with just living.

Possession By Dawn Mclachlan I saw in the distance an exalted castle where sadness had lost value and in the polished melancholy outpouring algorithms picked the bones of emotion like crows feasting on their kin. All possession lost in the cold creep of a eulogy prompted untouched by human heart and beyond the reach of flesh lying in the dusty boxes of their lives the things they once yearned for the things they once worked for once held dear in the ceremonies of life and death there was only code to hold that moment still because they no longer lurched along the brittle road learning from the curves the climbs the falls the rocks and the once broken hearts there, only the machines write love songs

#PoemsAbout #Possessed

So many great pieces already this week, and its not even 8am yet!

A poem on the one word prompt Possession. I fear that this, and all poems from this prompt - possibly all prompted poems from this moment forward will be eclipsed by Sue Ibrahim's "This be Perverse" which I was moved to repost.

mixed signal If you guide, protect, lift up they will stay. Zero competition, a total blue ocean to trauma dump in this spring day. The way society produces you. If you do this one thing once a week you will completely change your life. Park your proud scooter on seafront without a seaview landwards. It's not retirement. Shout it loud. If stressed, isolated and broke, console yourself with scrolling you can't afford. Shadow banking repossessed your one sole scooter from the cheap, derelict seaboard. "I need to be authentic." she said "This." Your top moss remover questions catfished.

I thought I’d approach #Possessed from the other end.

Some things once had a remarkable hold on me. These days I can barely remember why.

I made a song about it, too:

#frightfall2026 day 15: Supernatural. @retrosupply.bsky.social

I left my tablet at home today so I had to sketch on paper, take a pic, then ink entirely with a mouse…😭😭😭

Not my best but sometimes ya just gotta work with what you got y’know?
