Work on Porchirren: Crucible of Cards continues.

Even though one of the fans on my laptop is dying & isn't going out without a ruckus.

Changing the plan for the next release in two weeks. Going with a beginner edition rather than focusing on another vertical slice.

But I haven't written today's newsletter issue yet (T-02:50), my brain is cooked, & I'm need to do my walkies.

By hook or by crook I am to do both while it's still officially Monday!

Now I've got detailed notes for this episode & I've read what I've written, & I don't like how personal it is but by hook or by crook I'm going to record this episode and publish it while it's still Wednesday.

I hate deadlines. The ones I set for myself are THEE worst. Ugh.

Let's play Porchirren: Crucible of Cards Core Loop!

I've done images/cards for you to follow.

This is all a big, wild swing. I've never attempted to make the core loop playable like this before.

This is an Infiltration, not a combat.

Good Luck, Have Fun! 😅

Just published the quick start for Porchirren: Crucible of Cards over on Itch.

I feel sooo good about how the page looks wunna! 🕺
Proper chuffed AND real-real fussy 😅

Don't take my word for it. Hit the clicky-linky thing & see ⬇️

Red cards check against your ceiling, the harder target number, and black cards check against your floor, the easier one, so the same card can mean a tough climb or a comfortable clear depending only on its colour.

I was staring at the graphic I did (all by myself like a real boy) & the idea for a trailer popped into my head fully formed.

I'm rather chuffed by how it came out.

I've been working on this & talking about this for what feels like so long & now it's really-real! 🥳

I'm proud to present to you #ttrpgsky the quick start for my latest solo TTRPG, think XCOM meets Solitaire!

It's tactical, fast-paced, & uses playing cards ✏️📄🚫🎲

Spend so long thinking about & planning this, three cheers for getting the first audio-first episode (live playing the quick start) done! 🎧

Not just done, but published when I said I would [today!] 🥳

And I'm happy with how it turned out🕺

Huzzah! I just finished layout the Porchirren: Crucible of Cards Quick Start. 🕺

I had a simple idea & was able to execute it.

I decided to go with landscape to avoid the tables feeling squeezed up.

Next step is a final read-through before starting on the store listings.

It hasn't escaped me that designing a solo-first game where low cognitive load is a core design philosophy is pretty much NOT a low cognitive load experience much of the time 🥲🫠

I'm very happy to have got past this instance of productive procrastination.

My reward is that the domain name is now a live website!

Since you're reading this, do the clicky thing & subscribe for text-only devlogs on Mondays and audio-first podcast episodes on Wednesdays!
