...Not going to become my go-to cava, but could be my go-to Champagne replacement, so rating is as I would if I happened to miraculously find such a drinkable champagne in that price range.

€23 or so — fairly decent price quality buys it an extra half star.

Dom Perignon Lady Gaga Brut Champagne 2010, France

#AgedWineTuesday

Light yellow in color, with an engaging and pretty nose.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and soft, small bubbles.

Dry on the palate, elegant and complex.

Showing citrus, limes, green apples, yeast, herbs, light bread, light vegetables, earth, sea salt and minerals.

Soft finish with almonds and vegetables.

This 16 year old Champagne is absolutely fantastic now. Delicious and nicely balanced. Rich and complex.

I had this vintage before, and this time it is so much better. Or maybe it’s just that this specific bottle is showing better.

Needed an hour to open up properly and show the complexity, so be patient. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.

Wine Spectator 96 points. Wine Advocate 92 points.

A great wine to sip on, that paired nicely with fresh seafood.

A blend of 54% Chardonnay and 46% Pinot Noir.

12.5% alcohol by volume.

93 points.

$300.
