Apparently Avaas wasn’t in the mood to explain everything. The null mage sighed softly and shook his head. “I don’t even know what to say,” Ahvram admitted. “Mn. Apologies ain’t my strong suit, Goldfinch. I still haven’t apologized to my sister for losing her favorite necklace when we were kids.” “What?” Ahvram chuckled. “What did you do when she asked you for it?” “Uh, blamed Teersa,” Avaas grinned. “The scrap between ‘Shani and Teersa after that was legendary. I thought they were gonna rip each other’s horns off!” The null mage sputtered and then laughed. Avaas cackled and shoved Ahvram’s shoulder playfully. “What, ya never stole nothing from your sister?” Avaas needled. “No!” Ahvram laughed. “Cecily was a far better thief than me! She’d probably stab me in my sleep if I touched anything of hers.” “That’s if ya woulda got caught,” Avaas said flippantly. “All ya had to do was not get caught, ya idiot!”

Got 1989 words written after a month of writers block. Who knew the solution everything was to have the captain bust in and break up the MC and his boyfriend kissing? Not me. Not until today while driving home in the rain.
