@skh4birdies.bsky.social#367CollinsSt #peregrinefalcons. It was a chaotic morning as F24 tried to shelter the 3 chicks from the sun. Ultimately, all 3 called it quits on the south nest & made their way to the gutter & shade. They got 2 lunches for their efforts.

@skh4birdies.bsky.social#367CollinsSt. #peregrinefalcons. Sadly, 1 of the 4 chicks died from heat exposure, but the other 3 are thriving. Here we see a busy morning with 3 feedings, removal of the dead chick, and a lot of character from the remaining chicks.

@skh4birdies.bsky.social#367CollinsStreet Falcons. #F24&M24 have this breeding thing down to an art. 4 successful hatches over 4 days. Falcons have been nesting here on this 33rd floor ledge for some 30 years.

@skh4birdies.bsky.social#367CollinsStreet falcons. Then there were 3 tiny eyases. Food was delivered by the hunting machine, dad M24, within the hour. It’s raining buckets, so feedings will be hit & miss during storm breaks.

@skh4birdies.bsky.social#367CollinsStreet Falcons. It was a big day for #1. Hatching, meeting mum and dad, and enjoying their first meal ever! #1 did very well before falling into the requisite food coma.

This chick made quick work of zipping out of its shell, showing itself at 6:46:53 a.m. We should see at least #2 later today.

@michellepeacepath.bsky.socialWe miss Jenny and all the fabulous #PeregrineFalcons around the globe. Hope this link works. 💫
@skh4birdies.bsky.social#367CollinsStreet falcons. Like every male raptor I’ve ever watched, M24 loves incubating his eggs. His egg "lullaby" is unique and ever so endearing. Just 4 days till pip watch!

@skh4birdies.bsky.social#F24&M24 have incubation changeovers down to an art. She does most of the incubation; he does most of the hunting. Caught M24 doing laps around the building, presumably hunting. Did someone say the fastest animal on earth?
