A successful go-live isn't simply “We went live on time.”

What business outcome was the implementation supposed to achieve? How will you measure it? Who agreed that defines success?

Reporting requirements aren't something to address at the end of an implementation. If users need to report by something, your design needs to capture it.

Reports can drive design.

If a test fails, “it doesn't work” isn't enough.

What failed?
What was expected?
What actually happened?
What must change?

Specific feedback creates actionable solutions.

A Process Playback shouldn't be a software demo, it's an opportunity to prove the solution meets the requirement—and get specific about anything that doesn't.

Before changing Oracle configuration, first prove Oracle is actually the problem.

If the system works when the correct process is followed, you may have a process or ownership problem, not a configuration problem.

“We've always done it that way” isn't a requirement.

An Oracle implementation is an opportunity to understand WHY a process exists, not simply reproduce it in a new system.

When someone says "it isn't working", first try to prove that it is.

If Oracle works, the real issue may be the process, ownership, or communication—not configuration.

Not every Oracle problem is an Oracle problem. Before changing configuration or building another customization, ask: Are we solving the right problem?

Your Chart of Accounts shouldn't just satisfy Accounting.

It should support reporting, security, projects, procurement, integrations, and future growth.

A well-designed COA enables everything that follows.

Most implementation issues aren't technical.

They're design decisions made in isolation.

If Finance isn't involved in HCM design workshops, don't be surprised when payroll costing, organizational hierarchies, and reporting become redesign projects later.

Cross-functional design matters.

What's the biggest Oracle Fusion implementation mistake you've seen?

• Poor requirements?
• Weak testing?
• Lack of stakeholder engagement?
• Something else?

I'm curious what others have experienced.
