The way out? Stop arguing about branding and intentions. Apply the #4opens: open data, open source, open standards and open process. A simple test to compost 95% of the #techshit, so we can focus our limited energy on what actually matters: building grassroots power and a living #openweb.

In #ActivityPub governance, we have a problem: #NGO mainstreaming careerism on one side, #geekproblem grassroots careerism on the other. Different paths, same trap: protecting positions and control rather than building grassroots alternatives. These are friendly enemies of the #openweb.
