I sent myself more mirirem nonsense from work yesterday. i think i wrote this like two months ago or so.

Favorite activity to do together? I don’t know if it’s their favourite thing to do, but one of them is go to arcades. While they’re a little too loud for Rem’s tastes, they have a lot of things they both find very fun and it’s one of the places they went while on their first date. They’re both pretty fond of rhythm games and Mirio loves winning things in UFO catchers for Rem.  He accidentally got them kicked out of their usual arcade because a prize he had definitely won got stuck on the edge where it’s supposed to drop on the shoot and he insisted it would be fine if he used his quirk to knock it down instead of asking an employee for help. An alarm went off the minute he phased an arm through the machine and he got accused of trying to cheat haha.

Neven has CPTSD and would not go anywhere near a haunted house, and Renning would be too busy pointing out how fake everything is to be even remotely scared (he is a party pooper)

I haven't had a chance to work on my Rem timeline doc in a bit, but I figured I'd share some of the first few months from it !!
Things might adjust in the future.
But here's nearly everything up to the Sports Festival. 🧵

#Rem #OCStuff

Late January ✦ Rem takes the Shiketsu High entrance exam. Rem travels to Hyogo alone to take Shiketsu's entrance exam. It's an overnight trip and Rem worked extremely hard to scrounge up the money to be able to afford the roundtrip fare for the night bus. Rem chose Shiketsu due to it's reputation as well as the fact that their full ride scholarship includes a student housing subsidy, allowing Rem to be able to rent a cheap apartment within the city. While Shiketsu's not his first pick, if he could manage to get a full ride scholarship to a school on the other side of the country and away from his home, I think he'd be fairly content. However, this was the first time Rem travelled this far and made the unfortunate discovery that they get motion sick so for the entire ride there and for a few hours after the fact, Rem felt awful. Unfortunately, their bus arrived just an hour before the entrance exam was to start and since they felt since ill throughout the entire thing, their performance suffered.˖⁺‧₊˚♡˚₊‧⁺˖ February 2171˖⁺‧₊˚♡˚₊‧⁺˖ Pre-UA Early February ✦ Rem is rejected from Shiketsu High. Mid February ✦ Rem takes the Ketsubutsu High School Entrance Exam. Ketsubutsu is located in Naruhata so Rem did not have to travel far to get there as he also lives in Naruhata. Rem largely applied to this school for the convenience factor and was his third choice overall. Since Ketsubutsu isn't as famous as UA or Shiketsu, it draws in a much smaller applicant pool. This is to their advantage though! They're able to set up practical exams that accommodate a person's quirk more than just a blanket single type of exam for all applicants. Rem was placed in an exam that focused on rescue efforts and did relatively well. He also scored very high on the written exam. As a fun side note, it is of my opinion that Ketsubutsu was the school that Koichi Haimawari was going to apply to!Late February ✦ February 26th - Rem takes the UA High School Entrance Exam. Rem and Mikumo travel to Korisato to take the UA High entrance exams. While Rem was fairly confident about the written exams, he performed poorly on the practical as the plush dolls he created were not strong enough take down any of the robots and any plans to attempt to bait them into destroying themselves were swiftly interrupted by other students running in and destroying the robots instead. In short, the practical went better in his head than it did in practice and he was completely unprepared for the reality of it. ✦ February 27th - Rem receives an acceptance letter for Ketsubutsu High. Ketsubutsu saw Rem's potential, and were very willing to give Rem a chance. However, since he just barely managed to get into the hero course, it was ultimately determined that they would not give Rem a full ride scholarship and only offered him a partial. (600,000 yen / ~3,700 USD) If Rem were to accept and go into Ketsubutsu, he'd likely get enough financial aid to cut the rest of the owed money down significantly, but he'd still owe several hundred thousand yen. Since his mother had no intention of providing anything towards his education, Rem would have to get a loan and/or get a part time job. Not keen on either option, Rem decided to hold off on responding until he saw his results for UA.෴⚘෴ March 2171 ෴⚘෴ Pre-UA Early March ✦ March 5th - Rem receives an acceptance letter for UA High's General Studies course. Rem's genuinely shocked when he receives an acceptance letter, or rather video, from UA, but it comes with the drawback that it's for the General Studies course and not the course he was aiming for. He figured as much after his practical, but it's still disappointing to hear. It's hard to stay too down though as he's also informed that they have been granted a full ride scholarship for getting the top score on the entrance exam. He's further been asked to deliver the speech at opening ceremonies to represent the incoming first years due to his score. Rem debates on accepting a full ride at their first pick school, but for general studies or to go with a guaranteed hero course at Ketsubutsu but having to work part time to pay for it. Ultimately, they decide on UA due to the implication in the acceptance message that if they work hard, they may be able to transfer courses and Rem decides to bet everything on that implication. Mikumo also gets in and their middle school is very shocked that two of their students got into a school as prestigious as UA. On another note, Rem's scholarship essay was a pretty bold critique on hero society, largely focusing Japan's fixation and overreliance it's top heroes (particularly it's #1 hero) to convince the country that it's at relative peace while crime rates in impoverish areas still remain relatively high as heroes were less likely to open agencies or patrol in areas that wouldn't garner much media attention. It was one of the few scholarship essays that UA received that year that sparked a debate among the faculty reviewing them and Nezu loved it. Not only was it well researched, there are not many applicants willing to submit something critical of hero society to a heroics school and expect to receive acceptance and all tuition waived. Nezu was just very impressed by the sheer audacity. The minute …

i don't know why, but i'm just obsessed with making fake "official" stuff for rem lately fkdjsjaka
feels weird drawing them in their uniform unaltered, but this file would be made at the start of their story and that's how they wore it then!

#BNHA #BNHAOC #Rem #OCStuff #Sketchbook

A fanmade UA File that would generally be found in the manga. On the left is B&W illustration of Rem with notes pointing at various parts of their body. The notes are as follows: Rem's Hair: Wooly and thick. Can't grow longer than this or be cut short. Rem's Horns: Smooth and textured. Rem's ears: Off limits! They're sensitive! Rem's eyes: The bags of an insomniac. Rem's blazer: The buttons and sleeves show that he's a General Studies student. Rem's tail: Pants have to be tailored to fit comfortably. The right reads: UA File Class No. 11 Rem Hitsuji Quirk Needle felt Rem's hair is actually wool! It can be pulled out with ease and it'll instantly grow back. However, there's a limit on how much can be pulled out or his hair will stop regrowing. Once the wool is pulled out, Rem can will it to take any shape and animate it. Each plush has its own level of consciousness and is capable of moving on its own without Rem's oversight. They're all loyal to Rem and follows his instructions to the best of their abilities. They're support companions capable of packing a good punch, but they're pretty frail. Just one tear and they'll fall apart. Maybe if Rem's took better care of his health, his wool would be more durable... They tend to get most of their use being a daily assistant for Rem. No need to carry your own bags when you've got a plush that follows your every command to do it for you!

I have been too sick to do much, but I did make Rem a little shifuku manga profile.

#BNHA #BNHAOC #Rem #OCStuff

A mock BNHA shifuku profile page for Rem, resembling those found in the official manga. A sketch of Rem dressed in a plain T-shirt, jeans, sneakers, and a wrist watch can be found under the words "Street clothes" Over the UA logo, "Rem Hitsuji (15)" can be read. The rest of the text is as follows: Birthday: 9/10 Height: 166cm Favorite Things: Sweets, cute things, reading Behind the Scenes Rem attends UA on scholarship, but if he hadn't recieved one, he would have gone to a different school instead, even if UA had still accepted him. His family is poor, so he couldn't have afforded to attend UA otherwise. He lives a pretty rough life and despite seeming pretty calm all the time, he's constantly stressed out. The stress has given him insomnia and he averages about four hours of sleep a night, if that. I feel kind of bad for all the things I have put him through haha. His street clothes are surprisingly plain. If asked, he would say that he's not really interested in fashion. In reality, his mother would disapprove of his taste in fashion. So he often just gets whatever fits from the men's section without putting much thought into it to avoid conflict. He often has to tailor his pants to accommodate his tail and his horns tend to stretch out the necks of his t-shirts. His watch is just a cheap plastic one, but it works fine. Since he doesn't have a phone or an alarm clock, he uses the watch as an alarm.
