Happy International Necktie Day
w/ the preeminent (& exhausted) hawker of neckties in NYC,
Moe Williams / Thelma Ritter.
PICKUP ON SOUTH STREET (1953)

She commands your attention in every scene (of every film) she’s in and we love every minute of it.

This film still is of Thelma. Ritter has Moe Williams sitting on her bed in her old tiny New York apartment. She has a pillow behind her head, and hanging from the bed post are four neckties. Two are the same pattern of feathery shapes, one has abstract shapes, and another is a typical diamond pattern.
