@elenarossini.comNew day, new #WSocial controversy đźš©
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Well, W Social appears to be pulling a card out of the U2/Apple playbook: almost all new accounts now automatically follow @wow.wsocial.eu... an empty account that never posted! đź‘»
@renderg.hostThere is no good version of this for them. Keep it W only and it is a ghost town #NoGhostTown because <1000 have got verified *and* post regularly. Widen it to the whole network and traffic increases, but W verification stops meaning anything. Either way, W loses.
@renderg.hostThe ghost town is about to get deathly quiet.
@elenarossini.comI'm sorry if my posts calling #WSocial a "ghost town" offended you and other W Social acolytes... I see that the company's co-founder recently used the hashtag #NoGhostTown.
Considering the slight uptick in activity, is "sleepy town" or "quiet enclave" a better description in your opinion?
@palle.eurosky.social#Wsocial is pretty much the same #GhostTown as #WeDontHaveTime - The difference is they can't inflate numbers on ATProto!
The #NoGhostTown hasthag is pure comedy and calling #WsocialFacts the 2nd biggest platform in the atmosphere is a blatant lie. It's the biggest desert though!
Data > opinion!
@ingmar.wsocial.euI agree 100%. W already matches Bluesky’s KPIs and is the second-largest platform on AT Protocol. Now: Let’s double the network from 46M to 92M users!
The fight is between open and closed platforms, not between open platforms. Let’s win together!
