CHICAGO — Ever have one of those days where you should have just stayed in bed?

That pretty much sums up how Thursday went for the #NHLJets here in the Windy City.

My @winnipegfreepress.com column from United Center: www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews...

oh apparently he got stepped on and his skate laces got cut but he managed to avoid any actual injury, thank goodness #NHLJets #hnom

#NHLJets Scott Arniel also just revealed Vlad Namestnikov got worse, not better, as the day went on following his morning skate crash into the boards. For now he's day to day with a lower body injury.

#NHLJets coach Scott Arniel just told me here in Chicago that Viggo Bjorck actually got stepped on and had his skate laces get cut, but avoided any personal damage on that scary play in the second period.

That was a goofy OT.. #NHLJets lose it 4-3.

Meh. Whatever. Time to watch the Dodgers fail miserably.

#NHL Game Score Impact Card for Winnipeg Jets on 2026-10-15:

Viggo Bjorck looks amazing for an 18 year old rookie. The points will come in bunches but he already looks so solid at this level, his mistakes are rare and usually corrected. #nhljets

We’re going to overtime here in the Windy City

#NHLJets shake off a tough start and battle back from a pair of two-goal deficits.

3-3 through 3.

#NHLJets go to the power play here with 13:03 left in the 3rd period and a chance to grab their first lead of the night.

Hawks keep taking hard charges at the net.. But #NHLJets defensemen keep knocking those Hawks into their own goalie.

Gotta smarten up with that before they get their goalie killed.

Stuart Skinner is shaken up after Dylan Samberg knocks Ethan Del Mastro into him. No penalty on the play, although the #NHLJets aren't too happy, but that's probably a good non-call.

Well there's some very good news for the #NHLJets -- Viggo Bjorck is back on the bench.

The #NHLJets day so far:

-Bad news about Josh Morrissey (week to week now)
-Vlad Namestnikov crashes into boards at morning skate, hurts himself, out tonight
-Viggo Bjorck gets injured during the game
-Winnipeg falls behind 3-1 after 20 minutes

Other than that....

Kyle Connor can't be stopped right now.

He shows plenty of patience as he rips a shot past Spencer Knight to cut the #NHLJets deficit to 3-2 early i the third period.

8th goal of the year for Connor, who is playing in his 7th game.

Mark Scheifele and Neal Pionk the assists.

Not sure I've ever seen this before. Chicago had 17 shot attempts -- with 14 of them being on net. Only 2 were blocked, 1 was missed. That's a lot of wide open looks the #NHLJets are giving up.

6 minor penalties (4 to the #NHLJets) and 4 goals (3 by Chicago) is the story of an eventful first period here in the Windy City.

Frank Nazar just whiffed on a wide open net, otherwise #NHLJets would have been down 4-1.

A TON of loosey goosey play here by the visitors so far.

well we WERE saying we needed more than just the first line to do some of the scoring, go Pi #NHLJets #hnom

The Chicago goal came 14 seconds after the #NHLJets goal, which had come 1:47 after the Chicago goal.

Yeesh the #NHLJets are getting lit up
