Turnover margin decides games about as cleanly as anything in football. Even on turnovers is a true coin flip (50%). Win the battle by just 1 and that jumps to 78%. Lose it by 3 and you win only 1 in 8 games.

nflverse #NFL #NFLStats

Line and shaded-area chart of NFL win percentage by single-game turnover margin, 2026 season through week 5. X-axis: turnover margin -3 to +3. Y-axis: win %. Points, left to right: -3: 12% (n=8); -2: 21% (n=19); -1: 22% (n=27); Even: 50% (n=44); +1: 78% (n=27); +2: 74% (n=19); +3: 88% (n=8). Area under the line is shaded orange below the 50% "coin flip" line and blue above it, showing a steep, mostly monotonic rise in win probability as turnover margin improves.

Vikings and Raiders are elite against the run (both near -0.13 EPA/play allowed) but mediocre against the pass. Miami's defense is the opposite problem times two: worst pass defense in the league (+0.46 allowed) and nothing special against the run either.

nflverse #NFL #NFLStats

Blitzing more doesn't reliably mean more pressure. Chicago gets to the QB on 48% of dropbacks blitzing just 39% of the time, best pressure-per-blitz rate in the league. Minnesota blitzes far more than anyone (73%) but "only" gets 44% pressure.
