Why does Speedball have that yellow rendering for his word bubbles!? He does not need to be that unique. Anyway, they come up with a lame idea for a name, and now they’re known as the New Warriors! #marvel #newwarriors

The additions of Namorita and Speedball were unexpected, but Night Thrasher rolls with it and suggests that they should form a team of their own. I guess he really needs help getting revenge for his parents! #marvel #newwarriors

Speedball bounces around and does some damage to Terrax, so Marvel Boy captures Speedball’s bubble energy in a force field, and then fires it out in a concentrated blast! I guess Speedball can be helpful sometimes. #marvel #newwarriors

The new team seems pretty much collected as they gather to fight Terrax…but when Speedball sees the battle being covered on the news, he decides that he wants to join in! #marvel #newwarriors

Besides gathering the team, there’s also a plot about groundsoil contamination which is making people sick. When researchers gather soil samples to study, Terrax reforms himself out of the earth where he was disintegrated. And that’s where Namorita comes in! #marvel #newwarriors

Night Thrasher is looking for more people to join his team, so he hacks the Hellfire Club’s security and discovers Angelica Jones, better known as Firestar! Maybe threatening to expose her secret identity isn’t the best way to get her attention. #marvel #newwarriors

Night Thrasher seems more like Batman, with a high-tech home base where he can avenge the murder of his parents. He also has two legal guardians, Chord and Tai, who help him out. It’s basically “What if Alfred was two people but also not his parents?” #marvel #newwarriors

Man, I need to brush up on some of these obscure characters! So Marvel Boy is actually Vance Astrovik, the present-day version of Vance Astro from the alternate-future Guardians of the Galaxy! He fails to get into the Avengers, then he meets Night Thrasher.… #marvel #newwarriors

Did Richard Rider lose his powers in his last appearance in Rom #24 [M4742] over eight years ago?? I’ll have to look it up. In any case, he has his powers back after Night Thrasher throws him off a building! So edgy! #marvel #newwarriors

I can already tell I’m not going to like Night Thrasher. “Hey, what if he’s got black body armor, and then, like, a cool motorcycle helmet? And also a scary dagger coming out of the back of his hand?!” He feels like a precursor to antiheroes of the ’90s. #marvel #newwarriors
