Das war der Beginn einer verhängnisvollen Militarisierung der Ozeane: Rund 500 atomar betriebene Schiffe und U-Boote wurden in der Folgezeit gebaut, an Bord rund 800 Reaktoren. Heute sollen noch rund 300 davon in Diensten stehen. Die #Nautilus ist nicht mehr darunter.

So konnten sich die USA unbemerkt mit #Atomwaffen bestückt bis an die sibirische Küste - Hinterhof des Roten Reiches - heranpirschen.
