Hey hey, nēnē!

HPPA's Lynn at our Haleakalā NP stores keeps a watchful eye out for the Hawaiian geese that call that park home. In the 20th century, nēnē were all gone from Maui & had to be reintroduced. Now they act like they own the place.
Which, honestly, they do.

NPS's Sarah at our partner #Haleakalā NP on Maui noted this #nēnē being extra watchful around the Haleakalā HQ Visitor Center, probably looking for his mate, she thinks. Hawaiian geese pair bond for life and are usually in fairly close proximity to each other. We assume there was a happy reunion!
