How cool do these #dogs look? The point is not looking cool, however – it’s #protection! Contemporary battlefields take a toll on a #MWD Military Working Dog. I found it on @intengineering.bsky.social doing research for my #sciencefiction “XK9s” #books.

This square montage has a brown, gray, green, and lavender-pink variegated background and features three photos of Military Working Dogs modeling the DarkFighter K9 GEN4 helmet. The design centers on a dog in the helmet and other gear, standing between the fatigue-clad legs of his/her handler. At upper right is a darker photo showing the helmet from the front with the built in red lasers activated. At lower left is a view of a russet-furred dog’s head from behind with the helmet on. The words say, “Keeping our Military Working Dogs Safe! DarkFighter K9 GEN4 helmet photos courtesy of DarkFighter on X, via Interesting Engineering.” Read the story about this tech at https://interestingengineering.com/photo-story/photos-new-helmet-to-shield-military-dogs-in-the-line-of-duty
