Before I wander off and pass out lemme just send a wrapup post for this week's #monsterdon Vincent Price 2fer: The Bat & The Fly- Thanks as always to our host @Taweret for coming up with a great slate of October Movies, @miru for hosting the streaming and double feature, @JoeWynne for the […]
Y'know, honestly I feel a little let down by today's #Monsterdon features being too good
Fun fact: according to IMDB, this was the highlight of Patricia Owens' career (she's the actor who played Helene) https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0654433/
@nev.status.nevillepark.ca.ap.brid.gy"But for one instant he was careless."
That was honestly quite good! Patricia Owens's performance (as Helene) sells it. And of course Vincent Price is never unwelcome.
Okay time to cuddle the cat now, g'night all! Thanks @ryan for the stream!
That was a surprisingly good movie! Vincent Price is spoiling us 😂
Thanks as always @ryan for hosting and everybody for posting! See you next week!
#monsterdon "I'll never forget that scream as long as I live"
I mean okay but for some reason the high pitched screaming of the flybrundle absolutely removed all the horror from it and threw it into cartoon violence territory. I blame advertising and cartoons.
@paco.infosec.exchange.ap.brid.gyI don't know why he merged with a fly.
Perhaps he'll die.
@nev.status.nevillepark.ca.ap.brid.gyHold the fuck up, that's… _half_ of an _Argiope_ stabilimentum
why does an orbweaver have a…strangely accurate wolf spider eye arrangement???
hey, i feel sorry for the guy but why did the spider have to die???
oh that's a much more disturbing fly-human hybrid
#monsterdon is Phillipe the inspiration for Fillipe in Achewood? #theFly
@nev.status.nevillepark.ca.ap.brid.gythat's a terrible fake spider but ok
Apparently it took them forever to do the scene with the teeny "help meee!" because they kept cracking up
Chekov's "it was just a fly"
You'd think the forensics team would have noticed that the squashed body was part fly
#monsterdon "But I'm glad, I'm glad the thing is dead"
Now imagine that movie crossover. The Thing from another world absorbs some proto-transporter and chirality convertor brundlefly...
@paco.infosec.exchange.ap.brid.gyOh yeah, vincent price.
@nev.status.nevillepark.ca.ap.brid.gythe slowness of the press is so much more effective than just shooting with a gun (which IIRC is the case in Cronenberg's _Fly_)
