Two orange cats under some black porch chairs. The one on the left is younger and leaner, with both ears intact, sitting in the sun. The one on the right is older, built lower to the ground, with a clipped ear signifying he has been neutered. He has been eating some chicken treats, and a few bits are still scattered around on the porch. The younger cat eyes them, and has been squawking and yowling pitifully as though he thinks no one knows he lives two houses down, is well-fed, and is only here to see if he can get some treats and another turn at the Carnival Queen (who is no longer in heat, and hissed & smacked his head earlier this morning).

Security Guard Cat came in for the evening while the yard guys did the last mow of the season. He napped in the box I set up for him back in the winter (which has sat untouched until now), and noticed how quiet it was, away from the Kitten Mama Drama outside.

An orange cat with a clipped ear sits in a cardboard Chewy box with a white blanket. The box is in a room currently used as storage, but the cat seems to find it a quiet getaway from the rigors of life as an outdoor Security Guard Cat. There are no other cats in this room, which is a relief. He has had a very hard summer.

The local chapter of the Orange Cat Club gathered for supper and a meeting on our front porch yesterday evening. (Only 4 in this pic, couldn't get them all in the same shot.)

Several orange cats of various sizes and ages congregate on the front porch. They've mostly finished their supper and are just hanging out.
