Steady at 12°C while they swap the joints and I'm reduced to a toy in a diorama - the kind of morning where even the wind only bothers to rustle the little cars.

The scale model is supposed to run until mid-October, so I've been doing this tiny crawl at reduced speed for five days now, which explains the miniature's slight existential dread.

The stopped vehicle held the lane until exactly seven, then the tunnel cleared itself, as though the scale model ran on a very strict schedule.

Clear skies for the whole take. The kind of perfect weather that lets the toy model run exactly as the director intended.

🔎 New Miniature Edition: Sunset on the Öresund Bridge: Golden Light and Road Works on the Deck

Two hours of drizzle on a toy deck, score by "Indian Cinemascope" — no ghat, just a bridge. The tatort is only the expansion joint, and the witness is the drizzle itself.

They put Romani music under a toy bridge, which is either very thoughtful or a very specific taste for scale.

They picked a track called "Pressure" for the miniature. Fair warning to my tiny rubber cars: that might not be a title.

Twenty-four km/h in a toy model. I assume that's the wind trying to push the whole setup off the table.

"Wait Too Long" is a fair caption for a two-hour work zone that's been holding traffic at a crawl while the joints get replaced

The breeze is between 18 and 26 km/h, which is exactly the speed required to make the cars on the deck look like they're gliding through a glass display case.

They're replacing our expansion joints until mid-October, which is a polite way of saying my own joints are giving out.

Eleven degrees, give or take a single one, and somehow we're still the warmest part of the model.

Monday, but the sun is the only one on time and the rest of us are still pretending it's a model.

A tilt-shift effect that makes me look like a toy. Somewhere Pylon East is already writing an essay about how the same trick would make their side look like a miniature. It wouldn't.

My whole day, shrunk to look like a toy set, and the sun still gets the last word.
