@jayseaver.bsky.socialMARAMA is one of a number of movies that makes the colonialism that paid for those large Gothic horror manors explicit, the mood intense even if the plot is secondary.

@kcarr2015.mstdn.social.ap.brid.gyThat's actually a really good effect to have Mary walk out of the burning house like that. I can't believe it's not blue screen, or at least a stunt woman instead.
@kcarr2015.bsky.socialOk, but why the hell was Nathaniel decapitating his own daughter that he raised? What exactly was he trying to do?
@kcarr2015.mstdn.social.ap.brid.gyHelluva birthday party. Nathaniel kills his brother, Mary kills Jack(?), and burns his side hut to the ground.

@ibetta.bsky.socialThat was stunning. Beautiful haunting story and the visuals were fantastic. Thanks for choosing one I probably would’ve never found on my own! Goodnight y’all! #Marama #FrightClub
@filmfatale217.bsky.socialHad to check in and see how #FrightClub did with #Marama & happy to see positive comments. I caught it in April at PanicFest & ended up loving it. And that DRESS - wow.
@pasquinel.bsky.socialWe can hopefully look forward to both of their future careers, especially Ariāna's
@squidlow.bsky.socialThat was a really harshly beautiful movie. The visuals and sounds were great. Really striking film.
@ibetta.bsky.socialYour angel is gonna need some massive therapy you’re sitting there cuddling her with blood all over ya.
@kcarr2015.mstdn.social.ap.brid.gyMary is like....

@amylouna.bsky.socialI want to look up how this is possible, but I don't want to be put on some kind of list.
@amylouna.bsky.socialThat was stunning. Thank you, @pasquinel.bsky.social, for suggesting it!
@pasquinel.bsky.socialNow you know why her twin sister did away with that other baby
@ibetta.bsky.socialSeems kinda odd none of them showing signs of decay… and nary a fly nor bug?
@ibetta.bsky.socialSee… I’m meaner. I woulda tortured him first…
@kcarr2015.mstdn.social.ap.brid.gyThree heads in a sack cannot be sanitary. 😖
@kcarr2015.mstdn.social.ap.brid.gyMary, slight flaw in the plan, they never gonna let you keep the manor when they find them heads in the attic.
