THE INJUSTICE Emily Brothers, a lifelong Labour member, has been banned as a Delegate to Women's Conference and excluded from women-reserved seats in National Policy Forum elections. This decision targets her as a blind, hearing-impaired trans woman who has devoted four decades to Labour and equality rights movements. 'Emily said: "The Party should take immediate steps to remedy the injustice against trans people in particular those who hold a Gender Recognition Certificate and are legally the sex to which they worked so hard to obtain through years of transition. The Party should apologise to all the trans members impacted and reinstate me and the other trans women into our rightful positions from which we have been unfairly excluded. Going forward it is clear the law has to change. The impact of Supreme Court judgment (FWS v SGM) has been devastating to thousands of cisgender and trans women alike".
